The long-awaited Decepticons join the Missing Link series, the "what-if" revival line that reimagines toys as they might have existed back in the day. Introducing the Decepticon Intelligence Officer, Soundwave (Animation Type)!

Soundwave, one of the most iconic and beloved characters in the Transformers franchise, is renowned for transforming into a microcassette recorder and deploying his cassette troops from his chest compartment. Now, he returns through the Missing Link series, faithfully preserving the original G1 style, including the same scale and partial die-cast zinc alloy construction, while adding modern articulation for dynamic poses, a new transformation mode, and a host of premium accessories.

Included with this Animation Type release is Condor Cybertron Mode (Animation Type), a newly designed Cassettetron making its first-ever appearance in G1-format toy form. First seen in Episode 1, "More Than Meets the Eye", of The Transformers, this figure represents Condor's appearance on the planet Cybertron before arriving on Earth. Despite appearing in the animation, this version has never before been produced in the G1 format, making it a long-lost character brought to life at last through the Missing Link series. With its inclusion, a brand-new cassette joins the legendary Cassettetron lineup.

The Soundwave (Animation Type) figure recreates the mechanical surface details that were originally represented as flat sticker graphics with newly sculpted three-dimensional detailing. Foil stickers are also included, allowing collectors to customize the figure to their preference. In addition to vastly improved articulation that enables expressive poses such as kneeling stances and the iconic eject pose, Soundwave can also transform into the Light Standard Mode seen in Episode 1, "More Than Meets the Eye". In this form, he disguises himself as a Cybertronian streetlight to deceive the Autobots.

Accessories include familiar equipment such as the Electric Launcher, Concussion Blaster, and Barrier Case, along with the headphones, command microphone, and cable that were distinctive features of the original

Japanese release. These accessories feature some color variations from those included with D-01 Soundwave (sold separately). (The headphones are intended for display purposes only and are not recommended for attachment to the figure's head.)

Both Soundwave (Animation Type) and Condor Cybertron Mode (Animation Type) feature a Secret Emblem, which reveals the faction insignia when warmed by touch. Each figure is also equipped with a display stand compatible joint port for use with separately sold stands, allowing for a wide variety of actionoriented display options.

The package artwork features newly commissioned illustrations inspired by the original era, and a collectible character card is also included.
