In 1987, the animated series Transformers: The Headmasters aired in Japan, while overseas audiences were introduced to a completely different story, The Rebirth. In The Rebirth, Arcee combined with her partner Daniel to become a Headmaster, but a toy of this Headmaster version of Arcee was never released at the time. Based on the concept of “What if a redeco of C-07/C-08 Arcee had been released as Headmaster Arcee back then?”, this Missing Link release brings that unrealized possibility to life. An all-new Arcee head that transforms into Daniel’s Exo-Suit has been created, while the Arcee figure itself has been updated with a combination connector. At last, the long-missing piece that Transformers fans around the world have been waiting for is finally here. Based on C 07 Arcee (Prototype)/C-08 Arcee, this release changes the figure’s main pink color to a shade inspired by Arcee’s appearance in The Rebirth. The head sculpt also differs from C-07/C-08 and is based on the finalized animation design. Daniel can be seated in the vehicle’s seat, and can also transform into Arcee’s head and combine with the main figure. The Arcee figure features articulation that allows for a wide variety of poses. The Headmaster Set Content connector is designed to be compatible with the original 1980s Headmaster standard, allowing the head to be swapped with those of vintage Headmaster toys for even more play possibilities. (Compatibility may vary with some products. This figure does not feature a Tech Spec Meter function.) Two Small Laser Guns, identical in design to those included with C-08, are included and can be mounted on the rear of the vehicle mode. The robot figure also features the familiar Secret Emblem, which reveals its faction insignia when warmed by touch. A sheet of foil stickers designed in the style of the original era is also included. A display stand joint port is located on the back of the figure for use with separately sold stands, allowing Arcee to be displayed in dynamic action poses. The package features newly commissioned artwork inspired by the style of the original era, and a Collection Card featuring the same illustration is also included. For this release, the package design pays homage to the overseas Transformers packaging from the Headmasters era. Even details such as the gray inner backing card and clear blister tray have been recreated in the style of the original overseas releases, offering collectors the nostalgic experience of opening an overseas Transformers toy from the 1980s.
